Full Bath Installation

Clients needed a upstairs bathroom in a turn of the century home. Suggested space was at the end of a hall where there was closet off of an existing bedroom. Client’s wanted a simple bathroom with durable finishes. My goal was to create a space that would not seem out of place in this old home but that would add some modern convieniences. Features heated tile floor, stainless steel finishes, plenty of light and ventilation with plenty of space.

Addition Renovation

This addition built in the late 80’s had a lot of rot where deck was attached to it. Rim joists, parts of subfloor and lower sheathing needed to be replaced safely. I encapsulated the crawl space and added a ventilation fan. Necessary framing was done to make exterior wall changes and patio doors to windows conversions. High quality mohawk flooring was installed with padded underlayment. Custom archway was built to change the previous transition. Used solid wood window trim and 5” baseboards. Happy to have made these clients a refreshed and improved space for them to enjoy!

Family Room Renovation

The family room in this 1970s house had wood paneling and an older laminate floor. Owners wanted a change. Took down the paneling upgraded the insulation to r15 rockwool for insulation and acoustics, drywalled, painted, fixed steps going down into room and did some improvements to the shelf above the fireplace. After installing a moisture barrier from slab beneath, high quality Pergo flooring was installed. I stained both the shelf and steps. Premium eggshell paint was used for the walls and semi-gloss enamel for the trim, door and baseboard heaters. Recessed lighting was also installed. This all made for a more modern and refreshed space!

Employee Bathroom

Repaired fairly extensive rot existing around toilet area in original bathroom. Took walls down to the studs and removed pre 1950 tile floor that was set in a mud bed (not easy to remove). Turns out wall was built between to floor joist so removing the rotted subfloor had to put blocking in to support new subfloor. Also needed to sister a partial rotted subfloor running along toilet flange. Additionally replaced old supply valves one of which was leaking. Next step was installing mildew resistant drywall wall that I use on all bathrooms. After that painting was done with alabaster from Sherwin Williams and tile selected by client was installed. Bathroom has a 24" vanity, mirror and some nice finishes from Delta. Was an appreciated upgrade for the Medicine Shoppe personnel.

House Repaint

This house needed some new color. A lot of prep work was done and top of the line paint was used to give this newly purchased and formerly neglected house a much needed refresh. I installed a new front and storm door and added updated lights on the front and back. The homeowners and I were very happy with how it came out. The blue color and white shutters gave this fairly common house style a cool look!

Built Ins

Built In Bookcases

The clients needed built-ins on either side of a large window to allow for more storage and for the baseboard heating to still be functional. This house was built in the 1860s and has many Victorian elements. The goal was to make the bookcases to look original to the house. Moldings made on-site were installed to tie the built-ins with trim work in the house. I used high-grade poplar wood and birch plywood for the project. Everything was painted it with semi-gloss trim enamel and bronze hardware and grates were used to finish.
